Technical Requirements

Some problems might occur due to not enough bandwith, unsuitable operating systems or browsers. It is therefore important to check, if you Hard- and Software meets those requirements. A detailed description of the technical requirements can be found here.

 

Login doesnt work

  • The system generated passwords of the learners is usually a combination of letters and digits. Check if maybe the caps lock is on? Maybe try to write the password in a normal texteditor and then copy and paste into the password field.
  • It is crucial that you make sure to be on the correct URL (www.bebrasnamibia.com), there is many other bebras pages all over the world!

 

Pictures do not load / are not displayed

  • Reload the page -> CTRL + F5
  • Make sure to work with a suggested browser (check the "technical requirements")
  • In case the problem persists, contact us please (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.)

 

The Bebras Challenge page is not being loaded/displayed or only very slow

This can have multiple reasons, e.g. the content server can be under pressure, problems with a provider, bad internet connection in your school). The internet traffic between school and Bebras Server should be as unopposed as possible.

  • That means, for the domain challenge.bebrasnamibia.com you should not cache a proxy and ideally, it should be whitelisted
  • If the school uses multiple internet connection, make sure to access challenge.bebrasnamibia.com always with the same external IP
  • Setup  the browser to accept cookies from challenge.bebrasnamibia.com

Please contact us if you keep having a problem, we will try to assist you as good as we can.

Attention: If your learners have already started the challenge when the problem occured, we will give you additional time. In such case, kindly  give us the userids of the respective learners.

 

Page denies access

It can happen, that the system denies access, like after a logout

  • In such a case, just login again and continue with the challenge. You just lose a moment of time, everything else is still fine.
  • Possible cause: Your session is being administered by a "Session Cookie". If that one is not being transmitted properly to the server, your session gets lost and you can then continue only, after a new login.

 

Answers not saved

If there is a button  "Save Answer", click on it to save your answer. Otherwise the system will not save your answer and you will not get any points.

 

Participation not terminated

Once you finish all the tasks, klick on "Terminate". If you terminate in any other way, e.g. by closing the browser window, will also get his results after the Bebras Challenge.

 

Results are not being displayed

 There is no results showing directly. The results will never be shown after the Bebras Challenge, no matter whether you terminate or you run out of time. Once we have concluded the Bebras Challenge (in April), we will evaluate all results and communicate them to you asap. Then you will be able to access as a coordinator (with your login) and check the results.
